Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) is an innovative approach to health, movement and bodywork developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. It is a movement re-education approach based on two premises. One, that the mind is inseparable from and centered in the body; and two, that through the body the mind can be explored and expressed.
"I see the body as being like the sand. It’s difficult to study the wind, but if you watch the way sand patterns form and disappear and re-emerge, then you can follow the patterns of the wind, in this case, the mind.... Mostly what I observe is the process of the mind." (Cohen 1993)
